Join our novice swim team designed exclusively for home school families! This program offers a unique opportunity to build swimming skills, improve stroke technique, and foster a sense of community in a fun, team-oriented environment. With structured workouts tailored for novice swimmers, the Home School Swim Team provides a welcoming and social setting for local home school families to connect and thrive.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is not intended for beginners or swimmers uncomfortable in the water.

PREREQUISITES: To be eligible, swimmers must demonstrate proficiency in the following:

• Freestyle for 25 Yards: Correct reaching arms, fast kicks, and side breathing, using streamline off the wall.
• Backstroke for 25 Yards: Correct straight arms, fast flutter kicks, using streamline off the wall.
• Breaststroke for 25 Yards: Proper breaststroke arms with alternating breaststroke kick (not scissor kick) and breathing during the pull.
• Butterfly Kick for 15 Yards (Dolphin Kick): Legs together, toes pointed, kicking from the hips (not the knees).
• Tread Water for 1 Minute: Maintain afloat using sculling arms and legs, keeping the head above water without touching the bottom or wall.
• Tuck/Pike Surface Dive: Front float at the surface, transitioning into Tuck or Pike position, and swim headfirst to the bottom.

Participants will learn to:

• Perform effective and efficient turns, starts, and finishes for all strokes.
• Refine technique in Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle.
• Control breathing and pace during workouts and races.
• Engage in drills and swim sets designed for individual levels and endurance.
• Build stamina, confidence, and distance swimming skills.

Required Swim Equipment:

• Swim Suit
• Goggles
• Towel
• Swim Cap

SWIM COMPETITIONS: This program is non-competitive and does not include Swim Meets, focusing instead on skill development and personal growth.
