CRPD SWIM TEAM
Take the next step in your swimming journey with the Conejo RPD Swim Team! Our novice Swim Team offers structured workouts and focused stroke technique in a fun, team-oriented environment. Whether you're looking to experience the culture of competitive swimming or improve your skills, this is a great way to swim without the long-term commitment.
PREREQUISITES: Swimmers must be proficient in the following skills to be eligible for the CRPD Swim Team:
Freestyle for 50 yards: Demonstrate correct reaching arms, fast kicks, and side breathing, using streamline off the wall.
Backstroke for 50 yards: Demonstrate correct straight arms, fast flutter kicks, using streamline off the wall.
Breaststroke for 25 yards: Demonstrate correct breaststroke arms alternating with breaststroke kick (no scissor kick), breathing during the pull.
Butterfly Kick for 15 yards (Dolphin Kick): Kick with legs together, toes pointed, kicking from the hips (not the knees).
Tread Water for 1 minute: Stay afloat using sculling arms and legs, keeping the head above water without touching the bottom or wall.
Demonstrate Tuck/Pike Surface Dive: Perform a front float at the surface, then bring the body into Tuck or Pike position with head down, swimming headfirst to the bottom.
Participants should expect to learn:
Effective and efficient turns, starts, and finishes for all strokes.
Stroke technique in the Butterfly, Back, Breast, and Freestyle strokes.
How to effectively control your breathing and pace in a workout and race.
Drills and swim sets tailored to individual levels and endurance.
Skills to improve stamina, confidence, and distance swimming.
Swim Equipment: While some equipment is provided for swim workouts, participants are required to supply the following on their own. A CRPD Swim Team swim cap will be provided on the first day of practice.

Goggles
Towel
Swim fins
SWIM COMPETITIONS: Swim competitions or meets are optional. Some meets may require registration fees, which are not included in the cost of the CRPD Swim Team. Meet details, dates, times, and costs will be provided during the season.
CANCELLATION POLICY: A $5 fee applies to all cancellations. Cancellations are accepted until the second day of class. Refunds for the Swim Team are pro-rated by the week, not by the day. A pro-rated refund will be issued for cancellations made within two days (Monday to Friday) of the first class. No refunds will be granted after the second day of class.
MAKE-UP LESSONS: Due to the large number of participants in our program, we are unable to accommodate make-up lessons for missed classes, unless the class is canceled by us.
