This class is designed for confident swimmers looking to get started with springboard diving! Participants must be able to swim 25 yards comfortably and feel confident performing head-first entries in deep water.

PLEASE NOTE: This class will be held at the Samuelson Aquatic Center (SAC). Due to University policy, no spectators will be allowed on deck during the class. Parents and guardians can view the class from outside the perimeter fence or from the Community Pool at CLU side.

Required Prerequisites:

Skills emphasized in this class include:

• Spatial and bodily awareness, balance, and flexibility.
• Forward approach and back arm press techniques.
• Forward and back jumps.
• Forward and back line-ups.
• Introduction to forward dive tuck and forward somersault.
• Practice on both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards.

As a safety measure, participants must successfully demonstrate basic skills before progressing to more advanced techniques. This may require a significant amount of repetition to ensure mastery and safety in the water.
