Introduces fundamentals of competitive springboard diving allowing intermediate divers to refine their skills. All participants must be able to swim 25-yards freestyle and have previous diving experience with a class or team. As a safety measure, participants must successfully execute basic skills before moving on to more advanced skills. This may require a large amount of repetition.

PLEASE NOTE: This class will be held in the Samuelson Aquatic Center (SAC). Due to University policy, no spectators will be allowed on deck during the class. Parents and guardians may view the program from outside the perimeter fence or the Community Pool at CLU side.

Required Prerequisites:

- Must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle (one length of a competitive pool).

- Must know how to dive off the edge of the pool deck into deep water.

This class will emphasize the following skills:

-Spatial and bodily awareness, balance, and flexibility

-Forward approach, Back arm press

-Forward jump, Back jump

-Forward and Back Line-ups

-Introduces forward dive tuck and forward summersault

-Divers will practice on both 1meter and 3meter diving boards
