The Conejo Recreation & Park District operates the Elementary Strings Program on Conejo Valley Unified Schools campuses. The Strings Program is held in two semesters for the entire school year. Classes are held in-person on campus before or after school. Our Advanced Strings Ensembles are presented to any third through fifth grade student from any school with at least one year prior beginning strings experience through a CRPD or CVUSD band program. Students who register for strings in both the fall and spring semesters will be eligible to participate in the All-District Strings Festival at the Thousand Oaks Bank of America Performing Arts Center in the Spring 2026.

Learn about a famous artist each week using different mediums such as watercolors, acrylic, markers, colored pencils, oil pastels and model magic. Students will take home their interpretation of the master artist's work each class.

Students learn community safety, explore career paths, investigative and first-aid procedures, and develop citizenship skills. Lessons include filling out police reports, writing tickets, emergency response, and learning the phonetic alphabet. Kit includes: caution tape, handcuffs, whistle, and badge.

From creating characters and designing sets to snapping photos and editing short films, students learn the fundamentals of storytelling and animation in an engaging, supportive environment.
